SHORT-TERM INTERNSHIP (PROGRAM)

This short-term internship program has nothing to do with Law Audience Journal. Law Audience Journal is a part of Law Audience. All the selected interns will be working with Law Audience but not with Law Audience Journal.

LAW AUDIENCE:

‘Law Audience’, is an online Legal Educational Portal/Blog which emphasizes on modifying the present legal educational system. Law Audience was born on the 25th of June 2018. The main motive of this platform is to set new trends in the legal educational system by organising and conducting various Law Seminars, Law Competitions, Law Conferences, Law Workshops, and Law Quizzes on numerous aspects of legal education. This platform also provides an opportunity to Law Students, Fresh Law Graduates & to other Legal Experts to join us. At present, they can join us only on the online platform. Law Audience welcomes each and every person who is willing to make some contribution towards legal education.

TENURE:

It’ll be an online internship and it’ll have a tenure of 6 months (may be extended).

ELIGIBILITY:

1) A candidate must be a citizen of India;
2) At present students must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Law, i.e., 3-year LL.B Course or 5-year LL.B from any recognized college or university; or
3) Pursuing LL.M from any recognized university; or

PERKS:

1) A soft copy of the Certificate of Internship will be emailed after the successful completion of the prescribed tenure (no certificate of internship will be provided if the intern leaves the internship in between voluntarily).
2) One publication with an ISSN number in our upcoming law journal (Law Audience Journal). Provided it’ll be subjected to journal’s publication policy.
3) During the tenure of the internship, all the interns will get a 20% discount on all the events of Law Audience.
4) This internship will provide an opportunity for law students to enhance their legal writing skills, legal editing skills, news-making skills and other necessary skills.

ONLINE MOU (MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING):

All the selected or shortlisted candidates are required to sign an online MOU. This MOU basically defines the Terms & Conditions (such as responsibilities, duties and liabilities etc.) relating to this internship program.

PROCEDURE OF SELECTION:

1) All the received applications will be subjected to a proper evaluation process.
2) Selection of applications will be based on the following criteria namely;
    a) Presentation of CV or Resume;
    b) Internship Experiences;
    c) Your Skills;
    d) Your Additional Qualifications;

These are a few main points to evaluate your applications.

CONFIRMATION OF SHORTLISTED APPLICATIONS:

All the shortlisted applicants will receive a confirmation email within 2 weeks. If you don’t receive a confirmation email within 2 weeks, it means that your application has not been selected for it. No need to spam our email inboxes.

1. ROLE OF RESEARCH WRITER:

Every candidate selected for this Internship is bound to write at least 3 articles in a month. Topics will be assigned by Mr. Varun Kumar (Founder & CEO & Editor-In-Chief). Each article must be of minimum 1000 words and a maximum of 1200 words (Inclusive of footnotes). All the write-ups must be original, unpublished and unique work of the research writer. Each research writer is bound to submit the article within 7 days from the date of allotment of the assignment. But, however, in case of an emergency time extension may be granted. Provided in that case a research writer is bound to inform us before the given deadlines or at the time of allotment of the work. No endnotes and references are allowed.

REQUIREMENTS:

1) Good writing skills;
2) Good research skills;
3) Must know now how to use Bluebook 19th Ed;
4) Must know how to use MS Word in a proper way;
5) Must have good presentation skills;
6) Must be a unique content creator;

PLAGIARISM POLICY:

Law Audience believes in quality, not in quantity. Only 10% plagiarism is allowed with proper footnotes. If a submission exceeds the prescribed limit then it’ll be rejected and the writer will have to re-submit it.

TIPS TO AVOID PLAGIARISM:

1) Whenever you refer to the material of other author or authors as the case may be don’t write it in the same language as written in the original source re-frame it in your own language or paraphrase it.
2) Give proper footnotes to avoid the plagiarism.
3) Do as much research as possible.
4) After doing the proper research draw synopsis and then start writing.

COPYRIGHT POLICY:

There is no transfer of copyright. The copyright in the write-ups shall remain with the research writer. After the publication of the write-ups research writer can submit it for publication anywhere or can use it for paper presentation as the case may be. But, however, the research writer grants to the Law Audience, an irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free and transferable license to publish, reproduce, store, transmit, display and distribute the write-ups on the Law Audience Website or in books or in any and all other media, retrieval systems and other formats now or hereafter known.

CITATION STYLE:

Uniform Style of Citation should be adhered to. The method of citation which is expected to be followed is Harvard Bluebook 19th Edition.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:

1) Font style must be Times New Roman font and font size must be 12.
2) Headings and subheadings: All Capitals and Bold and Justify (Times New Roman font, in font size 14).
3) Further, the footnotes shall be in font size 10 and in the Times New Roman font.
4) A line spacing of 1.5 for the main text and 1.0 for the footnotes is to be followed.
5) All submissions are to be sent in either doc. or docx format. Note any submission in pdf form shall not be accepted.
6) Page layout must be A4 size.

2. ROLE OF NEWS WRITER:

Every candidate selected for this Internship is bound to submit two news stories each day. It is the duty of a news writer not to copy the whole news story covered by other blog or website or news channel as the case maybe. Try to write or present it in your own way. The news department will be divided into two sections namely,

a) News relating to National Law;
b) News relating to International Law;

REQUIREMENTS:

1) Must be a honest person and dedicated towards his/her work;
2) Good writing skills;
3) Good research skills;
4) Good news-making skills;
5) Must know how to use MS Word in a proper way;

3. ROLE OF ASSISTANT EDITOR:

Every candidate selected for this Internship is bound to check 3 to 5 write-ups every month and have to submit the assigned work within 3 days. But, however, in case of an emergency time extension may be granted. Provided in that case an assistant editor is bound to inform us before the given deadlines or at the time of allotment of the work. An assistant editor is bound to check the following things in the write-ups namely;

a) Whether the write-up complies with the above-mentioned submission guidelines or not;
b) Whether the write-up complies with the plagiarism policy or not;
c) Whether the write-up complies with bluebook 19th edition or not;
d) An assistant editor is bound to read the write-up carefully;
e) An assistant editor is bound to check whether is there any grammar mistake or spelling mistake in the write-up;

Note: If an assistant editor finds that the write-up doesn’t comply with the above-mentioned criteria (such as compliance with the submission guidelines and bluebook 19th edition etc.), then in such a case the assistant editor is bound to edit or ratify all the mistakes.

3) Good research skills;
4) Must know now how to use Bluebook 19th Ed;
5) Must know how to use MS Word in a proper way;

4. ROLE OF CAMPUS AMBASSADOR:

Every candidate selected for this Internship will be representing the Law Audience and its events in his/her respective university or college. This Internship provides a great opportunity for young law students to earn money. A campus ambassador is entitled to get 40% of each registration brought up by him/her during the period of Internship. A campus ambassador will be dealing with the following tasks namely;

a) A campus ambassador is bound to promote the events of Law Audience in his/her college or university and on other social networking sites. 
b) A campus ambassador is also bound to bring registrations for the events of Law Audience.
c) A campus ambassador has to bring at least 2 registrations for the events of Law Audience in a month.
d) If a campus ambassador fails to bring at least 2 registrations in a period of one month then his/her Internship shall stand cancelled and no certificate of Internship shall be provided.
e) A campus ambassador may be asked to write an article, not more than one in a month (in such a case all the above-mentioned submission guidelines, copyright policy and plagiarism policy is applicable on this internship) and may also be asked to help us in organising the events in his/her university or college.

Note: If you cannot bring at least 2 registrations in a month for the events of Law Audience (you have to bring the registrations before the given deadlines for a particular event) then do not apply for this Internship.

REQUIREMENTS:

1) Must be a honest person and dedicated towards his/her work;
2) Must have good networking connections;
3) Must know that how to promote a particular event;
4) Must know that how to bring registrations for a particular event;

HOW WILL LAW AUDIENCE IDENTIFY THAT A PARTICIPANT HAS REGISTERED THROUGH YOUR REFERENCE?

On the registration form of a particular event, we will be mentioning the names of all the Campus Ambassadors and the participant registering through your reference has to tick on your name on the registration form.

HOW TO CLAIM THE MONEY?

After the successful competition of the registration process we’ll ask from the Campus Ambassadors to provide us with the names of the participants who have registered through their reference and after receiving the names from the Campus Ambassadors we’ll cross-check it with our data and after that we’ll transfer the money into bank accounts or Paytm wallets of the Campus Ambassadors.

DEADLINES:

There is no particular deadline for this short-term internship program. You can apply for it anytime throughout the year.
